WATEA Board Meeting Minutes (draft)

June 16, 2011 Wausau East High School, Community Room 8:00 am – 9:00 am

  1. Meeting called to order at 8:15 am.
  2. Motion to Approve of March’s meeting minutes by Marlowe, seconded by Griesbach all ayes. Compliments to Dan Becker for taking the meeting minutes.
  3. Motion to approve the treasurer’s report Griesbach, seconded by Brickner all ayes.
    1. Hess Dexter invoice, Kent spoke with Tom Burner and they seemed receptive about either a sponsorship or golf team at this year’s fundraiser for the invoice we owe them. There will be a follow up conversation to finalize this agreement.
    2. Wheels to Work will have a 20% reduction from the City of Wausau grant.
    3. NCWWDB will possibly be giving money to W2W for the month of June, to be spent in the month of June.
  4. Brad Bartelt will have to step down from being a board member, with purchasing the business he is concentrating on the business. He would like to be kept in the loop and will reconsider future involvement. Jess Nemitz has agreed to replace Brad as a board member. Keane may also feel like stepping down if so Butch Raasch may be willing to step in.
  5. Wheels to Work:
    1. Kent will host a breakfast to local accountants to discuss the Wheels to Work program.
    2. Brochures are done (handed out to each).
    3. Beth Mueller is very excited about the program and has asked Becky to speak at her next Early Bird Rotary Club in July.
    4. GMC Raffle signs handed out; Becky will distribute tickets for those willing to sell. The winner of the vehicle will be picked at the golf outing.
    5. We are running out of donated vehicles.
    6. Brickner’s has a 7 passenger Dodge Caravan for us for a vehicle purchase.
    7. W2W is setting up a tier of sponsors that will allow for those who give more to have more recognition. Possible to get bill boards to advertise for us.
  6. Scholarship:
    1. Jerry has a great candidate for next’s year scholarship. A student from Antigo who is enrolling in the program. He was awarded the WATDA scholarship this year.
  7. Golf Outing:
    1. Golf letter went out and assistance is needed with these past supporters:
      1. US Autoforce
      2. Mighty Auto Parts
      3. Dealer Specialties
      4. Joe Rader
    2. Kent has obtained listings from Newman Catholic Schools to send more solicitation letters to.
    3. We have received:
      1. 2 sets of 2 Badger tickets
      2. Packer tickets
      3. Brewer tickets
      4. Hockey tickets
      5. Still looking for some golfing passes
    4. Still looking for gold and hole sponsorships and merchandise.
  8. Mike Walton will be in town at the end of June and we should let him see the Crew Chief Challenge.
    1. All guns and batteries are all accounted for.
  9. New Business
    1. Board would be willing to hear to the Justiceworks, Ltd. in August to see if there is a partnership there to work towards.
    2. Board passes on the Market America at this time.

  11. Next Meeting will be July 19th, 2011. In August it was decided to change location not date due to Wausau East not being available. It will be held at Brickner’s of Wausau.
