Treasurer Report: Please see how WATEA funds and Wheels to Work funds are separated but shows how each flow into each other.
Note that all 2010 Golf Outing is paid in full.
Please see February treasurer report: motion to approve treasurer report by Marlowe, seconded by Normand all ayes.
  3. Becky has been hired by Forward Service Corporation, which is the company that wrote the grant jointly between Forward Service Corporation (FSC) and WATEA. FSC asked to interview/hire Becky full time with one day a week that is concentrated on WATEA so all wages will be billed to WATEA from FSC per the grant. There is no change fiscally, it will actually benefit WATEA. Becky’s wages will be invoiced by FSC at $1000 a month plus benefits. Motion to approve the billing of Becky’s wages Poppe, seconded by Steckling, all ayes.
  4. Committee Sign up: Due to the fact we do not have current contact or involvement with heavy duty truck let’s remove the Heavy Duty Truck Sub-committee until further notice. Dan Becker was the chair of that committee and he will then co-chair the Membership & Marketing with Kent. Let’s try to reenergize the sub-committees, realizing that finding time to volunteer becomes more difficult all the time but we are making a difference and any energy you can put into a committee is great.
  5. Committee: Scholarship & Fundraising: Working on the ads for the golf outing. The golf letter is ready and waiting for ads to send out to past sponsors and potential sponsors. We will have an earlier & more firm deadline for platinum sponsors for print and radio advertising. The golf outing date is set for July 30, 2011. As we go forward we may look at changing it from a weekend to a weekday. It may be beneficial to have a survey in each bag to see if our current golfers would still participate if switched to a weekday. Buck Welsh is no longer employed at Trapp River and was replaced by Pete Sanders and we hope everything runs as smoothly as always. Looking again for volunteers to help during the event. For the past years Log Cabin has been given a platinum sponsorship with an additional charge for the food that has grown to $1000. Townline has been asked what they will/would charge to cater the event with an estimate of at the most $750 for a nice luncheon, McDonalds is also being asked the cost for breakfast to try and lower our cost from last year. Everyone agrees to the change of caterers.
  6. Membership is still being worked on. We are asking that a day in May our traveling sales personal will touch base with potential members to follow through and encourage membership.
  7. Wheels to Work: The policy has been revised and need approval of changes. Motion to approve the Wheels to Work Policy by Marlowe, seconded by Normand, all ayes.
  8. Education: NATEF survey needs to be done for Mark’s halfway to five years. Potential to call a special meeting for completing the survey next month. Mark to set up meeting, Kent thought that we could use that time to show case Mark’s classroom and program. The attendees would complete the surveys, have any questions asked, and then tour the facility looking at early to mid April.
  9. New Business: Chamber Membership: Possibility of WATEA becoming a member of the Wausau Chamber. Motion to approve membership into the Wausau Chamber by Marlowe, seconded by Normand all ayes. Jerry and Kent will be working together at this year’s Chamber Expo and this would be great to have WATEA represented and also have the Crew Chief Challenge there.
  10. New Business: Career : Tuesday April 26th at Stevens Point volunteer currently is Mark Poppe. Thursday April 14th is the 8th grade career fair at NTC and the current volunteers are Mark Poppe, Brian Rosewicz, and Craig Steckling. Also there is one in Eau Claire that Kent will attend. Motion to approve attendance at career fairs by Becker, seconded by Poppe, all ayes.
