  • Assessment of vehicle to determine roadreadiness and the effectiveness of desired repair.
  • Participant also receives credit counseling, budgeting assistance and vehicle maintenance education.
  • Repairs completed by certified participating facilities to extend vehicle life.
  • Significant repairs are possible through discounted parts and labor.

Need Wheels?

  • Vehicles donated to WATEA are re-donated to participants.
  • Participants obtain 0% Job Access Loan which covers costs to get vehicle to road-ready standards.
  • Participant also receives credit counseling, budgeting assistance and vehicle maintenance training.

Need A Loan

Need a Loan?

  • Participant can obtain 0% Job Access Loan funded by the program to purchase a vehicle from a participating dealership.
  • Includes inspection of vehicle prior to purchase to determine it meets road-ready standards.
  • Participant also receives credit counseling, budgeting assistance and vehicle maintenance training.

  • 200% poverty or less
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must carry insurance
  • Must be working or looking for work

 

WETAP, the Wisconsin Employment Transportation Assistance Program, helps low-income workers and job seekers obtain reliable and affordable transportation, so that they and their families can become economically self-sufficient. Administered by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, WETAP provides funds from the federal and state levels to community partnerships dedicated to assisting participants in overcoming transportation barriers.
