How does it work?

Need Repairs?
- Participants can obtain 0% interest loan for repair work on their vehicle.
- Assessment of vehicle to determine roadreadiness and the effectiveness of desired repair.
- Participant also receives credit counseling, budgeting assistance and vehicle maintenance education.
- Repairs completed by certified participating facilities to extend vehicle life.
- Significant repairs are possible through discounted parts and labor.
Need Wheels?
- Vehicles donated to WATEA are re-donated to participants.
- Participants obtain 0% Job Access Loan which covers costs to get vehicle to road-ready standards.
- Participant also receives credit counseling, budgeting assistance and vehicle maintenance training.

Need a Loan?
- Participant can obtain 0% Job Access Loan funded by the program to purchase a vehicle from a participating dealership.
- Includes inspection of vehicle prior to purchase to determine it meets road-ready standards.
- Participant also receives credit counseling, budgeting assistance and vehicle maintenance training.

- 200% poverty or less
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must carry insurance
- Must be working or looking for work
WETAP, the Wisconsin Employment Transportation Assistance Program, helps low-income workers and job seekers obtain reliable and affordable transportation, so that they and their families can become economically self-sufficient. Administered by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, WETAP provides funds from the federal and state levels to community partnerships dedicated to assisting participants in overcoming transportation barriers.
